As long as I can or want to remember i have had a passion for hiphop and rap. Sure i remember a time when I was dancing around in my local youth club to whatever techno hit was the bomb at the time…but again…lets skip past that..
I personally still like the oldschool stuff. Not a day goes by without a biggie, talib or roots track in my ears. Hiphop has come a long way since my first record(Black Star by Talib Kweli and Mos Def as i remember…how great a track is Definition?), and the term has more than expanded in meaning these days. With styles like grime and trip hop gaining more and more popularity, its hard to say whats really hip hop and whats just a phase.
This brings us to what this post is about(or I could just be babbling).
About a month back Søren Clemmensen, my faithful co captain of our video falcon, created a video for the danish rap artist Kesi together with the producers of Trackmansiom. Now there has been a lot of discussion about Kesi, talent, harsh words and music style. It even came to a full blown written attack by everybody’s favorite “actor” Anne Grethe Bjarup Riis(get the irony?). Kesi handled that like a champ and I’m not even taking sides. In my completely impartial opinion he did the crown up thing and confronted her, instead of taking it through the media. You can listen to the discussion here…(danish.)
Everybody has a right to their opinion, but hey..if you don’t like it, I havn’t seen a radio without a off button yet.
All this rambling is actually just a build up to the video we did, which can be seen here, with some images from the set:
